What is Kundli Milan?
Kundli Milan (Ashtakoot guna milan) compares the Moon sign and Moon nakshatra of two people across eight kootas worth 36 gunas in all: Varna 1, Vashya 2, Tara 3, Yoni 4, Graha Maitri 5, Gana 6, Bhakoot 7 and Nadi 8.
How many gunas should match for marriage?
Traditionally at least 18 of 36. As a rough guide, 18–24 is acceptable, 25–31 very good and 32–36 excellent. The score is one input: families usually also look at doshas and each person’s own chart.
What is Nadi dosha?
Every nakshatra belongs to one of three nadis — Adi, Madhya or Antya. When both people share the same nadi, the Nadi koota scores 0 of 8, which is called Nadi dosha. Tradition lists exceptions, such as both having the same Moon sign lord; the result shows when one applies.
Does guna matching check Manglik dosha?
No. Ashtakoot matching does not include Mangal dosha. Check each person’s chart separately with the Manglik checker.
